Here, here. Vegans are well positioned to make a strong push for food accessibility and I believe that any vegan worth their nutritional yeast should consider it one of their primary issues. Tofu nuggets and pleather belts won’t make any impact if they’re prohibitively expensive and only available from incense-burning yuppy shops. That said, I think it’s important to look further than mere access to vegan alternatives. Veganism isn’t just about not-eating-animals, it’s a stance on a whole system of oppression. Unfortunately, many vegans are all to happy to participate in that system.
